Position Overview:
As a Freelance Database Administrator, you will work closely with our engineering and analytics teams to design and implement a MySQL database schema for our client’s data warehouse. This role is instrumental in ensuring that their data is organized, efficient, and accessible for analysis, reporting, and decision-making purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to understand data requirements and business objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement a MySQL database schema tailored to our data warehousing needs.
- Optimize database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage.
- Implement data security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Monitor and maintain database health, addressing any performance or reliability issues.
- Collaborate with cloud engineers to establish data integration pipelines.
- Assist in data migration from existing systems to the new data warehouse.
- Document database schema, configurations, and processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on MySQL.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Proficiency in database design and schema development.
- Familiarity with data modelling tools.
- Excellent SQL skills for data manipulation and query optimization.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working in a remote or freelance capacity is a plus.

Duration: 5 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs.
